Cedar Pointe Golf Course, previously named Boone Golf & Country Club, is a Semi-Private, 18 hole golf course located in Boone, Iowa.
The front nine dates to 1889. The back nine opened in 2001.
The course offers two distinct and uniquely challenging nines. The very old and mature front nine is short, tight, and caters to the accurate player versus the long ball hitter. With aged trees lining almost every hole, hitting fairways is at a premium when trying to score well on the first nine holes.
The back nine is much more open and forgiving, however, much more trouble lurks on the inward nine if you’re not careful. Out-of-bounds lines each hole and water hazards come into play on six of the nine closing holes. All holes with the exception of #11 have at least two bunkers. The closing hole is a great risk/reward par 5.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,647 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,560 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 12, a par-5 that plays to 566 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 7, a par-3 that plays to 152 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, a 543-yard par-5 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Cedar Point Golf Course is # 18, a 533 yard par-5.
